The warrior who known for his truth and strength.

One of the most fascinating and powerful character from the epic Mahabharata (the Mahabharata is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India) who had never lied in his entire life.

Yudhishthira was the older son of Mata Kunti and king Pandu and brother of Pandav’s (Bhim, Arjun, Nakul, Sehdev). Yudhisthira was blessed by the god of Dharma and renowned for the path of truth and dharma (right way of living and path of rightness). He was inspired by his two uncles Bhishma and Vidura and from there he learnt the dharma and its virtues. Throughout his entire life he along with his brothers and mother suffered a lot of discrimination and dis-honored. They were all kicked out of their own kingdom by their cousins Kauravas after they lost the game of Pachisi. Duryodhana and Shakuni (Kauravas) tricked them in the game and insulted them in front of courtiers of Hastinapur. Kauravas insulted Draupadi by undressing her dress in the court in front of everyone.

Pandavas life after the loss of game of Pachisi

After the loss of game of pachisi Pandavas sent into the forest to live in exile and anonymity. They all spent 1 year of anonymity working as servants in Matsya kingdom and 13 years of exile in forest. During these 14 years of imprisonment, they bearded many harsh truths of life and incident and learnt some of the best teachings.

The war of rights and respect- 14 years of revenge and anger

After 14 years of exile Pandavas tried to get their kingdom and power back, but Kauravas refused to give them. This conflict of peaceful and diplomatic efforts resulted into war called the Mahabharata. During the Mahabharata, the clan of Pandavas was small in comparison with Kauravas. Everyone knew that this war would cost their everything, but the Pandavas was fighting for the truth and dharma while the Kauravas was fighting for wealth and power. But as the universe knows truth always win. Both Pandavas and Kauravas killed many of their relative and cousins. Arjun killed Bhishma the first teacher of Yudhisthira, but he never left the path of truth, honesty, justice, sagacity, and tolerance. Yudhisthira always followed teachings and believe on his dharma. Yudhisthira cursed his mother Kunti and all other women on this earth that they can’t kept a secret from now on.

The power of dharma, war, and truth- King Yudhisthira

After winning the battle of Kurukshetra, Yudhisthira became the Emperor of Hastinapur Kingdom. He suffered a lot in his life, when they insulted his brothers, exploited his wife in court, undressed her in front of his own family and called her whore.

But after every stone that casted in his way of dharma he always managed to stay on the side of truth and honesty. And this trait of Emperor Yudhisthira is the biggest teaching for us.

Virtues of strength and power- answer to your questions- Dharma

The only trait that made the Yudhisthira the most iconic man in this world is the truth or Dharma that he never left. No matter what he was going through, he stayed on his beliefs. For him, the biggest belief was the Dharma. The dharma that he described as one should never leave the path of the right thing. No matter in what situation God put you. You’re not allowed to leave the path of your dharma and truth because in the end Truth always triumphs.

We are living in a world full of selfish and fake people. Everyone is lying at every minute. We’re not sure whom to trust and this is the most painful thing that every person is suffering from. Thus, we need the trait of telling the truth in every person. Yudhisthira cursed his mother for hiding the truth that Karana was one of the of Pandavas. And this leads to the fight of revenge between Karna and Pandavas. Karna was the oldest son of Mata Kunti. But she hides this truth from them which leads to the death of Karana by Arjuna.

The Dharmaraj Yudhisthira-Picture of our desire- Why we need him?

The Yudhisthira was popular by the name of Dharmaraj- the man with the knowledge of rightness. All he learned in his entire life was to walk on the path of rightness and truth. As many times I’m saying this word during the entire article, I want to deliver the most desired trait that we admire but we can’t find it in every people we meet. There are only few people left who dare to speak what they feel, what they wanted to.

The relationship in which you’re in or if it’s the workspace where you’re working or if it’s the friendship or any other thing. Then you need to or anybody else whom sharing the time with you needs to stay on the path of truth.

Beside this quality, Yudhisthira was the man of judgement. He always listened to every side of the story and then used to announce the judgement. Known for his unbiased judgement, whether the culprit is his own brothers or not. The judgement that came through Yudhishthira was never questioned.

During all this long journey of efforts and throne, he was standing still on his principles. He never compromised with his principle and beliefs. He was the true protagonist of Mahabharata and inspiration of every story that we live every day.

We don’t project for what we were born or what we are assigned as a human. But other than this we lie all the time for us, or sometimes we mold the truth for our benefits. If we start telling the truth every time and understand the view of everyone that what they want to say and if necessary, give judgement on that without any favor. We can high up our status as a human.

The bridge of every relation or the foundation of humanity is Truth. Every relation that builds on truth is long live.
